Texas Tech, Adidas unveil new Red Raiders uniform featuring Patrick Mahomes' 'Gladiator' logo
Adidas and Texas Tech unveiled a new uniform on Thursday for the Red Raiders football team. An all grey uniform that features the ‘Gladiator’ logo from Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and Texas Tech alumni Patrick Mahomes.
“Seeing my own logo on the Texas Tech uniform I put so much blood, sweat and tears in is one of the most meaningful off-field accomplishments of my career,” Mahomes said. “I want to thank the three-stripe family for giving me this one-of-a-kind opportunity.”
The Mahomes Strategy uniforms feature Dark Grey tackle swill with printed metallic films and Power Red accents. Which the Red Raiders will debut for the first time in their home game against Colorado on November 9.
Mahomes played three seasons at Texas Tech from 2014 to 2016 before taking his talents to the NFL. Winning two NFL MVP awards and helping lead the Kansas City Chiefs to three Super Bowl wins. Signing with Adidas in 2017 and now serving as one of the brand’s top athletes who has definitely placed a priority on giving back and being involved with his alma mater.
Adidas and Texas Tech signed a 10-year partnership in July to officially become the the official footwear, uniform, apparel and accessory partner of the Red Raiders. Which was followed with Mahomes signing six Texas Tech athletes to ‘Team Mahomes’ in August. An NIL initiative that involves the six athletes in brand marketing campaigns like Mahomes’ signature shoe and apparel line with adidas.

Texas Tech freshman wide receiver Micah Hudson is a part of Team Mahomes, and helped the three-time Super Bowl MVP unveil the uniforms in adidas’ rollout on Thursday.
Mahomes unveiled his “Gladiator” logo with Adidas in August of 2021, and now becomes one of the first athletes in history to have their personal brand included in official on-field apparel. Joining the likeness of athletes like Michael Jordan.
“The unveil of the adidas Strategy uniform by Patrick Mahomes further amplifies the power of this partnership,” said Kirby Hocutt, Director of Athletics at Texas Tech University. “We are proud to be the first collegiate adidas partner to utilize an athlete partner’s logo as there is no more powerful brand in sports than Patrick Mahomes. We look forward to debuting this uniform in front of a sold-out Jones AT&T Stadium on Nov. 9 against Colorado.”
