2025 LB Kaleb Burns commits to Texas Tech
Houston Cy Falls three-star linebacker Kaleb Burns has committed to Texas Tech, he announced on Monday.
He chose the in-state Red Raiders over SMU, Baylor, Pitt and Houston.
Burns is the No. 457 overall prospect and No. 46 LB in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 68 player in Texas.
The 6-foot-1, 230-pounder logged his official visit to Lubbock on June 14. Joey McGuire and the TTU staff have now landed another pledge from a top Lone Star State target. The Red Raiders now have 17 commitments this cycle and a class that ranks No. 28 in the nation and No. 2 in the Big 12, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
Red Raiders charging for Top-25 class
Just like last cycle, Texas Tech once again is honing in on in-state recruiting. With the addition of Burns, 12 of the 17 commits are from Texas. That includes the eight highest-ranked prospects in the class, as of July 1.
