Texas Tech trending for 2025 4-star EDGE Chad Woodfork
Texas Tech is now trending for Humble (Texas) Summer Creek 2025 four-star EDGE Chad Woodfork, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).
On3 national recruiting analyst Sam Spiegelman logged an expert prediction with a 60% confidence level that the Red Raiders will land Woodfork. Texas Tech now leads at 91.5% in the RPM.
At the start of the week, it was Texas in the lead for Woodfork despite coming off of a visit to USC. But now it appears the Red Raiders have taken charge.
“Top-100 EDGE Chad Woodfork stayed busy in January with visits out to Texas, Baylor and then to USC,” Spiegelman wrote. “Texas and Texas Tech have hosted Woodfork more than any other schools. Former Longhorns DL coach accepted the same position at LSU, which will get Woodfork on campus March 9. Michigan is also in the mix for a visit. Sources expect this to boil down to Texas vs. Texas Tech.”
Woodfork told On3 that a decision could be coming soon, but that he has to be certain about his decision.

“I think a decision could be soon,” Woodfork told On3 on Monday. “I want to see a few more places, and then after that …. I’ve seen and heard a lot from all of these schools and what they have. I have to make sure I’m 100 percent, but I’m 95 percent (sure) I know where I’m going.”
Detailing last year’s visit to Texas Tech
Woodfork visited Texas Tech last year and had this to say about the program in Lubbock.
“All of them are really, really good people,” Woodfork said. “I talk to them the most often for sure. We have a great relationship and I feel like I have a genuine connection with all of the defensive coaches over there. It’s a great situation over there for sure and you can see that the relationships are real. It’s not a hashtag; it’s a real thing, and they talk to you every day.”
“The junior day was great … it was organized and everything was great,” he continued. “They planned it out and it was a good experience getting to be with the coaches. Lubbock is a real college town with a college environment; everything is built around Texas Tech and it’s the heart of the area.”
