Elijah Fisher, a 6-foot-7, 215-pound small forward out of Canada has committed to Texas Tech and will join the Red Raiders as a member of the 2022 recruiting class.

Originally apart of the class of 2023, Fisher has decided to forgo his senior year of high school at Crestwood Prep in Toronto, and head to Lubbock a year early. Before reclassifying, Fisher was ranked as the No. 22 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus — a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 1 overall player in Canada.

Texas Tech was the only school the Canadian wing visited. He also received offers from Kansas, Kentucky, Florida State, Oregon, and others.

“I would like to thank Coach Adams and the entire Texas Tech Family for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to play basketball at the college level,” Fisher said in a statement to On3. “With that being said, I would like to announce that I will be reclassifying up to the class of ‘22 and playing with Texas Tech University this upcoming season.”

Fisher recently spoke to On3’s Jamie Shaw about his visit to Tech.

“Being there and seeing how things are, they are a family down there; a close-knit family,” Fisher said. “Everyone loves basketball down there, and they play hard. The program understands the value of the small things. It is all about getting to the championship with them.”

Texas Tech welcoming in ample amount of talent

With the addition of Elijah Fisher, Mark Adams and Co. have now secured an eight-man 2022 recruiting class. Joining the Canadian forward from the high school ranks is four-star PG Richard Isaacs Jr., four-star SG Lamar Washington, and three-star PF Robert Jennings.

The Red Raiders also welcome in four transfers — SF Jaylon Tyson from Texas, PG De’Vion Harmon from Oregon, C Fardaws Aimaq from Utah Valley, and SG D’Maurian Williams from Gardner-Webb.

Fisher Scouting Summary

“Elijah Fisher is a strong, explosive, and physically imposing forward. He has ball skills with confidence on the ball and a vicious nature when attacking the rim. Fisher has good length at his size and is an instinctive rebounder. He is balanced and quick in transition. He gets above the rim and will finish a viral type dunk about once a game. The jump shot is coming along; still streaky, but his footwork and rhythm getting into his shot is getting better. There are questions on his motor; those did not exist in this viewing as he showed an ability to take over a game – but those are concerns. He can toggle between a switchable four and a big three, depending on lineups and style of play.” – On3’s Jamie Shaw, National Recruiting Analyst
