Purdue transfer linebacker OC Brothers commits to UAB

UAB has picked up a defender from the transfer portal as former Purdue linebacker OC Brothers has announced that he has committed to the Blazers.

“Back in Bama,” Brothers posted on Twitter.

OC Brothers appeared in six games this season, recording 19 tackles, 5 tackles for loss and 2 sacks.

He is originally from Florida, but he started his football career at Auburn. He played two seasons for the Tigers, before transferring to Purdue.

Brothers was a contributor for the Boilermakers in 2021, 2022 and 2023.

During his first season at Purdue in 2021, he played in all 12 games. In 2022, Brothers played in 12 games and made 10 starts. He recorded 42 tackles and helped Purdue reach the Big Ten Championship game.

This past season he appeared in six games for the Boilermakers. He is now headed back to Alabama, where he started his college career, to play for UAB.

The Blazers are coming off of a 4-8 season under head coach and former NFL quarterback Trent Dilfer.
