Apopka (Fla.) Wekiva three-star defensive lineman Sincere Edwards has decommitted from UCF, he announced on Wednesday. Edwards also named a new top five schools list, which included, UCF, USF, Maryland, Pittsburgh and Penn State.

He had previously been committed to the Knights since August 2022.

“First off, I want to thank god for blessing me and my family and putting us in the position we are in now,” he wrote on Twitter. “Secondly, I want to thank Coach Martin and Ingram and the rest of the staff for believing in me and allowing me to be apart of the family. I also want to thank knight nation for showing love and support.

… Lately I’ve been thinking about my recruitment process and I just want to capitalize on every opportunity. With that being said am decommitting from UCF and dropping a top 5. However, this doesn’t take away the love I have for UCF at all. I am an Orlando kid, and it will be hard for any school to get me out of state.”

Edwards is the No. 590 overall prospect in the 2024 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 54 defensive lineman and the No. 81 recruit in Florida.
