4-star twin brothers Michael and Andrew Harris commit to UCF
Twice is indeed nice for Guz Malzahn and Co. The UCF head coach got doubly good news on Wednesday when Altamonte Springs (Fla.) Lake Brantley twin brothers Andrew Harris and Michael Harris committed to the Knights.
Andrew, a 6-foot, 195-pound linebacker, ranks as the nation’s No. 201 overall prospect, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He has also been tabbed as the No. 15 player at his position and the No. 39 senior in the state of Florida.
Michael, a linebacker as well, checks in as the No. 256 prospect nationally, No. 20 linebacker and No. 51 player in Florida.
The duo chose UCF, which sits about 15 minutes south of Altamonte Springs, over finalists Michigan State and Maryland, as well as more than 20 other offers. Playing together at the next level was a priority for both, and they were only considering programs who would let them do so.
“If a school wants us, they have to recruit us both,” Michael Harris told On3’s Chad Simmons in January. “They have to get to know Andrew, they have to get to know me, and they have to recruit us the same. … If a school just recruits me, then we won’t look at them. We are going to make our commitment together, so recruiting us both is very important.”

UCF did exactly that, led by Malzahn, defensive coordinator Travis Williams and defensive ends coach Kenny Ingram.
“We love UCF,” the brothers said in a video previewing their announcement. “Coach T-Will and Gus Malzahn, they’re real dudes. Coach Ingram, too. The atmosphere down there is great, they’re building up something great and going into the Big 12. … I can see us going and dominating the Big 12 when we go there.”
Michael and Andrew Harris are the two highest-ranked high school commitments for the Knights since 2018. As a junior, Michael only played in six games due to injury, but notched 48 tackles, two quarterback hurries, one sack, a forced fumble and recovery.
Andrew, meanwhile, earned third-team all-state recognition from FloridaHSFootball.com and totaled a team-high 103 tackles. Both are standouts on the track as well, with Andrew owning a personal best time of 10.72 in the 100-meter dash, while Michael finished second in the long jump at the Florida 4A state track meet with a 22’-8.5 mark.
