LOOK: FSU QB McKenzie Milton makes not-so-subtle jab at Nebraska, Oklahoma
Florida State quarterback McKenzie Milton woke up on Wednesday morning and decided he was going to take some jabs at blue blood programs. The Oklahoma Sooners and the Nebraska Cornhuskers were on the receiving end, with Milton not being afraid to share how he feels about Norman and Lincoln.
During an appearance on 696 The Game, Milton was comparing college football experiences in the midwest vs Orlando, where UCF (his former school) plays their home games. He said “it’s a no brainer” when comparing the two, picking the sunny Florida atmosphere over the midwest.
When radio host Mike Bianchi urged him to say Lincoln, NE, the home of his former head coach Scott Frost, Milton took it one step further by mentioning Norman, OK. The former UCF quarterback even went so far to double down on his statements off the air, saying the only recruiting pitch blue bloods have is that they’re blue bloods.
“Not shade y’all it’s fact,” Milton said via Twitter. There’s a reason Orlando is the fastest growing city in comparison to these other places. I’m sorry but the only recruiting pitch with these blue bloods have is that they are just that. No one is jumping out of their seat to move to Lincoln or Norman.”

In the age of NIL, there is a fear that the rich will continue to get richer from a recruiting perspective. Milton is putting in his shift, making an argument for one of the top Group of Five teams in the country. In fact, they will soon be joining their own Power Five conference, with the Big 12 era just on the horizon for the Knights.
Milton just got finished playing for a program some might consider a blue blood in Florida State. He transferred to the ACC program after three seasons with UCF and suffering an injury. In one season, Milton completed 58.3% of his passes for 775, three touchdowns, and six interceptions.
