Former Auburn football standout joins Big 12 coaching staff
The UCF Knights are set to take on their first season as members of the Big 12 Conference during the 2023-2024 college football season. And before they begin their debut season in the conference, they just added an old pupil of Gus Malzahn’s to help guide them through it.
Former Auburn and UCF wide receiver Nate Craig-Myers officially joined the Knights’ football coaching staff on Friday, the team announced via their Twitter page. He will be joining the UCF staff as a recruiting and personnel assistant, according to the announcement.

He originally played two full seasons and a partial year under Gus Malzahn at Auburn. He hauled in 16 catches for 285 receiving yards and three touchdowns during the 2017 season for the Tigers. During his time with Auburn, the 6-foot-2 wideout hauled in 22 catches for 394 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
At Central Florida, as a redshirt senior, he hauled in three passes for 46 yards, averaging 15.3 yards per catch. Before Central Florida, he suited up for the Colorado State Rams during the 2019 and 2020 seasons. In 2019, the Tampa Bay native hauled in 23 catches for 329 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Before he chose Auburn, Nate Craig Myers was one of the most highly regarded players in America coming out of Tampa Catholic (Tampa Bay, Florida). He was ranked as the No. 7 wide receiver in the country and the No. 54 overall prospect in America for the 2016 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus Rankings.
His senior season was the best of his high school football career–he reeled in 896 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns. As a defensive back, he also snagged five interceptions that season. His impressive numbers earned him first team all-state honors in the state of Florida for the 2015 campaign.
UCF will begin their 2023-2024 season against the Kent State Golden Flashes on Thursday, August 31st.
