4-star EDGE Isaiah Nixon commits to in-state UCF
St. Petersburg (Fla.) Lakewood EDGE Isaiah Nixon had a number of Power Five offers to choose from, but ultimately staying a little closer to home won out.
The four-star Sunshine State prospect committed to UCF on his visit this weekend, picking the Knights over Georgia, Miami, LSU, Florida and Florida State.
Nixon is the No. 155 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 16 EDGE and the No. 31 junior prospect in Florida.

After visiting the Knights in March, Nixon returned again this weekend for the program’s spring game. His only other visits this spring were a pair to Florida State (including one last weekend) and a trip to Florida in March.
He told GatorsOnline last month that he planned to take official visits to Florida and Georgia, among others. But he didn’t mention the Knights as one of the schools recruiting him hard at that point. UCF head coach Gus Malzahn and Co. turned up the heat, though. Nixon is the Knights’ third commitment in the 2023 class, joining three-stars Kaven Call and Troy Ford.
With Isaiah Nixon in the fold, UCF’s class ranks No. 22 nationally in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings.
