With June right around the corner, just two of the top 40 quarterbacks in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, remain uncommitted. The No. 2 gunslinger on the board is Baltimore Archbishop Spalding four-star Malik Washington.

Checking in at No. 20 at his position, Washington has seen his stock rise as he moves closer to his senior season. He recently landed an invitation to the Elite 11 Finals this summer in Los Angeles, helping cement his status as one of the best signal-callers this cycle.

While plenty of quarterback dominoes have fallen over the course of the spring, Washington’s recruitment has remained somewhat low-profile. Official visit season is here, however, and the 6-foot-3.5, 200-pounder announced on Wednesday that he’ll log an OV to UCF this weekend.

Washington took an official to Virginia Tech back in April, and he also has an OV lined up to Maryland for the weekend of June 21. UCF did not crack his top six schools earlier this year, but the Knights are now in the mix for the blue-chipper.

Maryland, Oregon, Penn State, Syracuse, Texas A&M and Virginia Tech were named finalists for Washington’s pledge back in January. UCF is still searching for a QB commit in the 2025 cycle and looks to be targeting the Old Line State product.

“I will definitely take my official visits before I commit to a school,” Washington previously told On3. “Once I commit, I want to be committed and not visit any other schools. The official visits will be important because I just want to see what coaches are honest with me, where I am on their board and just see how coaches feel about me.”

He checks in as the No. 258 overall prospect, as well as the No. 20 QB in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 5 player in Maryland.

UCF owns top class in the Big 12

Thanks to three commitments since April, UCF now has nine pledges in its 2025 class, which ranks No. 23 in the nation and No. 1 in the Big 12, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

Cincinnati Anderson three-star tight end Caden Peining and Covington (Ga.) Newton three-star defensive lineman Ryshawn Perry each joined the fold in April. The Knights also landed a pair of pledges in March in the form of Palm Beach (Fla.) Central four-star safety Tony Williams and Cedartown (Ga.) three-star athlete Demarcus Gardner.

Thomasville (Ga.) Thomas County Central four-star safety Kendarius Reddick announced a surprise flip of his commitment from Auburn to UCF on Feb. 3. The 6-foot, 165-pounder is a top-100 prospect in the 2025 On300.

“The way everyone looked at me as family as soon as I stepped foot in the facility. It just made me feel more at home,” Reddick told On3’s Hayes Fawcett upon flipping his commitment.

Reddick continues to be flanked by top recruits, including Kissimmee (Fla.) Osceola four-star running back Taevion Swint, Williams, Tampa Bay Tech three-star wide receiver Santonyo Isaac and Cocoa (Fla.) three-star offensive lineman Jaquez Joiner.

Swint is the No. 248 overall recruit in the On3 Industry Ranking and is also the No. 16 burner in the 2025 cycle. He committed in April 2023.
