UCF posts entire 2014 Fiesta Bowl to troll Baylor ahead of matchup
UCF and Baylor have played each other only once in the history of college football. That game came about a decade ago in the 2014 Fiesta Bowl.
Ahead of their game this weekend in the Sunshine State, the Knights posted the video of the entire Fiesta Bowl on X, formerly known as Twitter, for anyone to watch.
UCF won the game, 52-42, over the Bears in an offensive shootout. Knights quarterback Blake Bortles was the Offensive MVP and linebacker Terrance Plummer was the Defensive MVP.
Both teams had entered the game with 11-1 record and conference titles to their names. It was held at University of Phoenix Stadium in Scottsdale, Ariz., on New Year’s Day 2014.
Bortes threw for 301 yards and three touchdowns in the game while also adding 93 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. Storm Johnson added 124 yards and three touchdowns on the ground.
“There’s not many outside of us who believe we had a chance, but we did and I think we showed what UCF football is all about,” Bortles said after the game.
Bryce Petty was 30 of 47 for 356 yards and two touchdowns for Baylor.
UCF-Baylor to face off Saturday in Orlando
A lot has changed in the time since UCF and Baylor last faced each other nearly a decade ago. Most notably, the two teams are now conference opponents and Saturday’s game in Orlando will be a conference game.

Baylor has gotten off to a tough start to the 2023 season, entering Saturday’s game with a 1-3 record and 0-1 mark in conference play. Their lone win came against LIU in Week 3. However, the team has lost to two teams currently ranked in the top 10 in the country in Texas and Utah.
UCF is 3-1 on the year but it fell this past weekend in its first Big 12 conference game versus Kansas State.
Saturday’s game FBC Mortgage Stadium will be the Knights’ first-ever home Big 12 conference game. UCF was 5-2 at home last season with a win over then-ranked Cincinnati being the highlight of the home slate.
“This is one of the better venues to play football in,” Knights head coach Gus Malzahn said, according to mynews13.com. “I think the whole conference, when they come through, they will figure that out. It’s a great environment. I’ve been just about everywhere, and I’ll put this environment up against any of them.”
