2025 EDGE Scott Taylor commits to UCLA: 'The culture is infectious'

Los Angeles Loyola EDGE Scott Taylor has picked up 13 offers throughout his college recruitment. None made him feel the way that UCLA did.
The likes of Arizona and San Jose State were also in the mix for the 6-foot-4, 230-pounder, but on Friday he announced his commitment to DeShaun Foster and the Bruins.
“What led me to UCLA was the new culture with the new staff, their modern defensive scheme, and most importantly the love they showed me. They make it feel like home,” Taylor told On3 of his decision.
It’s a new era of football in L.A. and Taylor has resonated with Foster and the new staff. He’s already taken his fair share of visits, and while he has plenty on the horizon, he felt the time was right to announce he’s staying in the Golden State to play for the new Big Ten program.
“The new staff brings a different energy and culture to the team. They still have the same structure and discipline, but it’s so clear to see they enjoying what they are doing,” Taylor said. “I went on a gameday visit last year against Colorado, and under the new staff I have visited twice already with three more visits upcoming.”

“After my first visit under the new staff, getting the offer and making plans to come back to campus, I knew UCLA was home.”
Taylor is the latest in-state product to join the fold for UCLA. As the Bruins look to open their new chapter in the coming months, Taylor now eagerly awaits to make his way to campus and help ring in a new era of football at the Rose Bowl.
“The culture is infectious,” he said. “Coach Foster explained it to me, but also let me see how the team is buying in and working at an extremely competitive level. Everyone in the facility wants to win.”
