2026 4-star UCLA commit transfers to Venice (FL)

One of Florida’s top high school football teams just got a huge lift on the offensive line and it comes via way of a 2026 4-star offensive lineman. A UCLA commitment is heading down to the 941.
According to a collaborated social media post via Instagram, 6-foot-6, 308-pound 4-star UCLA commit Johnnie Jones is transferring from Berkeley Prep to play for 4-time state champion Venice. The Indians are coming off their fourth state crown, winning Florida’s Class 7A classification in 2024.
Via the On3 Industry Rankings, Jones is ranked nationally No. 146, No. 17 in Florida and No. 12 when it comes to offensive tackles. Jones plays primarily at left tackle and did so in the spring game against Gainesville Buchholz.
It becomes back-to-back seasons in which Venice sees a top flight offensive lineman transfer over as Aljonon Oliver left Sarasota Riverview last summer for the Indians. Oliver ended up signing with Appalachian State in early February.
When it comes to high school football on Florida’s South Suncoast region, the Indians have been the winning standard under the direction of head coach John Peacock.
