3-star ATH Ethan O'Connor commits to UCLA
Los Alamitos (Calif.) three-star athlete Ethan O’Connor has committed to UCLA. He chose the Bruins over multiple programs, including Alabama, Georgia, USC and Washington.
O’Connor is the No. 587 overall prospect and No. 33 athlete in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 42 player in California.
The 6-foot-1, 160-pound prospect is UCLA’s second commitment this month. Mission Hills (Calif.) St. John Bosco four-star safety R.J. Jones chose the Bruins on Oct. 14.
Following O’Connor’s commitment, UCLA’s 2023 recruiting class ranks No. 62 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 9 in the Pac-12. It includes eight recruits and is comprised of one four-star, six three-stars and one unranked prospect.

O’Connor is the fourth-highest-ranked recruit in the Bruins’ group behind Jones, Chula Vista (Calif.) three-star linebacker Tre Edwards and Norco (Calif.) three-star wide receiver Grant Gray. All three prospects are ranked in the top 500 of the On3 Consensus.
A Golden State native, O’Connor has an On3 NIL Valuation of $5.8K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
