Chip Kelly reveals contact he'll have with former Oregon co-workers
For his first head coaching job, Chip Kelly was promoted from being the Oregon offensive coordinator to head coach. There he had a 46-7 record and played for a national championship. It looked like Kelly was going to be a dominant college coach for years to come until Kelly tried his luck at the NFL and moved on from Oregon.
After things didn’t work out in the NFL, Chip Kelly ended up back in college at UCLA. There, things have been more challenging as he’s looked to rebuild the program. However, the effort and energy have been worth it. At 6-0, Kelly is leading UCLA into Oregon.
While speaking to the media, Chip Kelly was asked if there was anyone he’d be seeing when UCLA plays Oregon.

“No, I don’t,” Chip Kelly said. “I don’t really know who’s going to the game, so, if there are friends and people there and I see them, then I’ll obviously interact with them. But I really didn’t talk to anybody who’s going to the game, who’s not going to the game.”

So, his focus is on the game and not on who he’s going to potentially see. That’s a good thing because this is a massive game for the PAC-12. Without divisions, you need to be one of the two best teams in the conference to make the conference championship game. Both UCLA and Oregon want to be in that game.
ESPN’s College GameDay will be in attendance for the game.
Chip Kelly says returning to Oregon is always special
This won’t be Chip Kelly’s first time going back to Oregon. He’s been back there twice already, losing on both of those occasions. At the same time, returning to Oregon has never stopped being special to him.
It’s always special going back there,” Chip Kelly said. “It’s a special place in my life. There’s a lot of great people there that had a profound impact on my life, but I’m not playing the game, so it’s–we’re totally focused.
