Oregon 5-star QB commit Dante Moore takes official visit to UCLA
Detroit Martin Luther King five-star quarterback Dante Moore has been committed to Oregon since July 8. But this weekend, Moore decided to take an official visit to the Ducks’ Pac-12 competitor: UCLA.
Sources recently told On3’s Chad Simmons that the Bruins and head coach Chip Kelly “are making a strong late push for him.” UCLA achieved one part of that plan by getting Moore to Westwood.
Moore is the No. 9 overall prospect and No. 4 quarterback in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 1 player in Michigan.
The 6-foot-2, 210 pound prospect is the top recruit in Oregon’s 2023 recruiting class. It ranks No. 12 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 1 in the Pac-12.

Meanwhile, the Bruins have one quarterback commit in their 2023 class. Orinda (Calif.) Miramonte three-star Luke Duncan chose UCLA on June 21.
Moore has an On3 NIL Valuation of $737K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
Dante Moore On3 Scouting Summary
The following is the On3 Scouting Summary for Dante Moore:
“Pocket passer who is one of the more accurate and efficient quarterbacks in the 2023 cycle. Skilled as a touch passer with the ability to layer throws and deliver with accuracy and nuance. Has a quick, natural release that aids in the short passing and RPO game. Shows a good arm both on video and in camp settings. Capable of hitting on deep shots off of play action.
“Put together a highly efficient and productive junior season in leading Martin Luther King to a state title while completing 73 percent of his passes for over 3,000 yards and 40 touchdowns against three interceptions. Does not appear to be quite the athlete or run threat as some of the other top quarterbacks in the cycle at this time. Will need to continue improving his movement skills and foot quickness.”
