Jaime Jaquez says winning Pac-12 was 'very important'
Over the weekend, UCLA beat Colorado while Arizona lost to Arizona State. With that, the Bruins clinched the Pac-12 regular season, an incredibly important accomplishment according to star Jaime Jaquez.
Jaquez explained why this was so important after the win over Colorado.
“Very important,” Jaime Jaquez said. “I think it goes to the four years of hard work that guys like…even guys who just stuck around and really bought into the idea of coming back and playing for something bigger than us.”
By winning the Pac-12 regular season title, UCLA earned the top seed in the Pac-12 Tournament. Right now, ESPN’s Bracketology lists the Bruins as a two-seed in the NCAA Tournament.
“I think that was one of the goals that we had in the beginning of the year and we accomplished it,” Jaquez said. “And, now, we’ve got two more goals that we want to accomplish as well, and we’re just going to keep working hard.”
