Oklahoma State forward Eric Dailey has committed to UCLA out of the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned.

Dailey spent just one season with the Cowboys, but it was an excellent one. He started half of the 32 games he appeared in, averaging 9.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.

He recorded two double-doubles in his inaugural season in college hoops, doing so in a span of four games in late November and mid-January.

At 6 foot 8, 230 pounds, Dailey will offer UCLA some quality size in the frontcourt. He can also stretch the floor.

Though not the most prolific shooter, Eric Dailey went 19-of-57 from 3-point range as a freshman, hitting 33.3% of his shots from beyond the perimeter. That’s an aspect of his game he can continue to work on to provide more value.

All in all, it’s quite a good get for Mick Cronin and company, who are looking to shore up the roster after missing the NCAA Tournament this season. UCLA finished 16-17 and missed the NCAA Tournament for the first time under Cronin’s watch, though the COVID-19 cancelled tournament in 2020 was his first season in charge.

That obviously won’t cut it long term for the Bruins, who are used to enjoying a high level of NCAA Tournament success. Dailey is an important step in reconstructing the roster.

Prior to enrolling at Oklahoma State, Dailey was a four-star prospect and a top-100 recruit, ranked as the No. 56 overall player in the nation in the 2023 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.

He also checked in as the No. 8 power forward in the class and the No. 4 overall player in the state of Florida, hailing from Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy.

Below is the On3 scouting report on Eric Dailey out of high school:

Lefty. Has a strong frame with good length. Broad shoulders. Advanced scoring package. Has good touch at every level. Lateral mobility questions, where does he defend? Smooth off the catch, shooting with range. Like to see him pay more attention to rebounding. Good mid-range, mid-post game. Can face up and score in the half court, good footwork and balance. A scoring threat.
