Oklahoma transfer offensive lineman Eugene Brooks is taking his talents to Los Angeles, committing to join the UCLA Bruins via the NCAA Transfer Portal, he announced via social media. Brooks was ranked as the No. 89 overall player in the country and No. 3 interior offensive lineman in the nation in the class of 2024, per the On3 Industry Rankings.

He received minimal playing time this past season as Oklahoma finished with a 6-6 record in the regular season. The Sooners are slated to face Navy in the Armed Forces Bowl to close out 2024.

Moreover, Brooks signed with Oklahoma after attending Sierra Canyon High in California. He was an Under Armour All-American in 2023. Brooks initially chose Oklahoma over offers from Texas, USC, Georgia, Oregon and plenty of other high-profile programs, and now he’ll join the Bruins.

As a member of the Class of 2022, Armella was a four-star recruit out of Miami (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 23 overall prospect in the state, the No. 11 offensive tackle in the class and the No. 172 overall prospect in the class.

Armella spent the last three seasons in Tallahassee before electing to move onto the next stop of his college football career. Now, he’ll hope to be part of a formidable offensive line at UCLA with Eugene Brooks joining him.
