Report: UCLA players Zach Charbonnet, Keegan Jones dressed in warmups, Kazmeir Allen not suiting up vs Arizona
The UCLA Bruins got a combination of good news and bad news on Saturday night before they faced the Arizona Wildcats. One of their best players, Zach Charbonnet will be back in the lineup, according to James H. Williams of the OC Register. Charbonnet is one of the most explosive running backs in the Pac-12 and one of the more explosive players in college football. So, his return is a massive boost to the Bruins’ offensive attack. The Bruins also have another running back, Keegan Jones, warming up in warmups ahead of their Saturday night matchup vs. Arizona.
But unfortunately, the Bruins also got some bad news from James H. Williams, who tweeted that Bruins wide receiver Kazmeir Allen is not dressed for the game. Losing Allen is a fairly big loss for UCLA, as he’s hauled in 43 catches for 331 receiving yards and a touchdown.

At halftime, the UCLA Bruins trailed the Arizona Wildcats 21-14. Charbonnet made a splash as expected, rushing for 97 yards and one touchdown on just 11 carries, averaging 8.8 yards per carry. His longest rush of the half was a 37-yarder and he appeared to be back to his old, explosive form. Keegan Jones hauled in one catch for UCLA in the first half. Arizona quarterback Jayden de Laura looked impressive in the first half, completing 13 of his 15 pass attempts for 161 yards, while tossing in one touchdown and no interceptions. Wildcats’ receiver Jacob Cowing hauled in five catches for 66 receiving yards. He’s one of the most explosive receivers in all of college football and it looks like the Bruins are struggling to contain him.
After the Arizona game, the Bruins will face off against the mighty USC Trojans. USC features one of the nation’s most explosive offensive attacks and the game will certainly be one of their most difficult games of the season.
