2023 DL Tavake Tuikolovatu commits to UCLA
Fontana (Calif.) Summit defensive lineman Tavake Tuikolovatu announced his commitment to UCLA on Friday. He chose the Bruins over multiple programs, including California and Utah.
Tuikolovatu is not ranked in the 2023 On3 Consensus or the 2023 On300. He is 6-foot-6 and weighs 300 pounds.
UCLA’s 2023 recruiting class now contains 12 high school players. Three of them are defensive lineman: Tuikolovatu, Bakersfield (Calif.) Liberty three-star Grant Buckey and Henderson (Nev.) Liberty three-star A.J. Fuimaono.
The Bruins’ group is No. 38 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 6 in the Pac-12. It is led by San Diego (Calif.) Mater Dei Catholic four-star wide receiver Jeremiah McClure, the No. 234 overall prospect in the 2023 On300.

Head coach Chip Kelly and his staff have four pledges ranked in the top 500 of the On3 Consensus. They are McClure, Norco (Calif.) four-star wide receiver Grant Gray, Mission Hills (Calif.) St. John Bosco three-star safety R.J. Jones and Chula Vista (Calif.) Mater Dei Catholic three-star linebacker Tre Edwards.
Tuikolovatu took an official visit to UCLA on the weekend of Dec. 10. He also took officials to California, Utah and Washington State.
