UCLA Bruins QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson announces plans for 2022 season
The UCLA Bruins have been in a merry-go-round with quarterback position so far this offseason. On Monday, head coach Chip Kelly got a present surprise at the position, with his starter returning for the 2022 season.
Dorian Thompson-Robinson took to Twitter on Monday, announcing he would be returning to Los Angeles next season. Had he not decided to come back for a fifth season, the Bruins would have been in trouble with the quarterback.
Thompson-Robinson has started in 27 games over the last three seasons and only missed one game during the 2021 season. He led the highest-scoring offense in the Pac-12 alongside Kelly, throwing for 2,409 yards and 21 touchdowns while completing 62.2% of his passes. The ground game has been a huge asset for Thompson-Robinson as well, rushing for 609 yards and nine touchdowns.
Just a few days ago, Dillon Gabriel was thought to be the starter for next season. Then, Caleb Williams decided to enter the transfer portal and caused a huge domino within the entire sport. The Oklahoma Sooners and offensive coordinator Jeff Lebby came calling for Gabriel, convincing him to play next season in Norman.
Getting Thompson-Robinson to return will have expectations for UCLA much higher than before.

Bruins tight end Greg Dulcich has announced that he will be declaring for the 2022 NFL draft. He did so with this letter attached, thanking the program and those who have helped them along the way.
“Thank you to my wonderful family for always supporting and guiding me. Thank you to Justin Posthuma and Chris Zubia for being such great mentors of mine. Thank you to my Golden Knight family and to coach bonds for giving me the strongest foundation possible in both faith and football. Thank you to coach Kelly and coach Sage for taking a chance on a walk-on and believing in me as a player and as a man. I would not be where I am today without you,” wrote Dulcich.
