4-star QB Madden Iamaleava commits to UCLA
Long Beach (Calif.) Warren four-star quarterback Madden Iamaleava has committed to UCLA.
He chose the in-state Bruins while also holding offers from the likes of Tennessee, Auburn, Ole Miss, Miami, Nebraska and others.
“The new staff at UCLA has great NFL experience and getting to the NFL is my goal,” Iamaleava told On3. “Coach White and Coach Eric Bieneimy have coached in the NFL, they have great knowledge and they are great coaches.
“Visiting UCLA with the new staff has been great. They’ve shown a lot of interest in me, the staff has a plan and Coach DeShaun Foster is looking go get UCLA back to where it’s been.”
Iamaleava said that staying home close to family was a big factor in his decision. The coaching staff at UCLA also impressed him, and the opportunity to help build the Bruins program back from the ground up was yet another reason to commit.
“It means everything to be able to stay in Cali and put on for my city,” Iamaleava said. “It’s a blessing to be at such a prestigious institution and have football come with it.”

Iamaleava is the No. 135 overall prospect and No. 12 QB in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 12 player in California.
The 6-foot-2, 185-pounder is the younger brother of former five-star recruit and projected Tennessee starting quarterback Nico Iamaleava. After sitting behind his brother at Long Beach Warren, he got his chance to start as a junior last season.
He excelled in his first season as a starter, compiling 3,626 yards and 43 touchdowns to just four interceptions through the air, completing 63 percent of his passes. He also rushed for 305 yards and three scores.
Iamaleava now headlines DeShaun Foster’s 2025 pledge list. Foster, offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy and Co. are pushing for the Bruins’ first top-30 class since the 2021 cycle — per the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
