There is a new leader in the recruitment of Tyler (Texas) four-star athlete Derrick McFall, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).

With a pair of expert predictions entered for UCLA, the Bruins took over the No. 1 slot on the RPM for McFall. On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons submitted a pick with a 60% confidence level, and On3 National Recruiting Analyst Sam Spiegelman entered a prediction with a 65% confidence level.

UCLA now leads with a 72.9% chance to receive McFall’s pledge. Second is Texas A&M at 23.5%.

McFall is set to make his college decision on August 4, his mother’s birthday. He will choose between Colorado, UCLA and Washington.

“The main reason those three made my list is because they stayed loyal throughout the whole process,” McFall told On3. “They continued to show love and never showed a doubt in me.”

McFall breaks down his top three

Colorado: “They’ve got Prime Time there and treat it like an NFL program. That’s how you prepare for the NFL and I like the offense they run. I saw the spring game and I like how they use their backs.”

UCLA: “Everyone knows about Chip Kelly and how he always has a great offense. We have a great relationship and I talk with their receivers coach Jerry Neuheisel almost every day. It’s a great relationship and he tells me everything about them.”

Washington: “I’ve got a great relationship with Lee Marks, their running backs coach. He stays in contact and makes sure that I’m good all of the time. I also liked seeing what they did this past year.”

McFall is the No. 357 overall prospect and No. 13 athlete in the 2024 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 62 player in Texas.

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $38K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
