UCLA has been one of the nation’s best teams all season long with a 25-4 record. Now, with two games left on their schedule, the Bruins have accomplished something they haven’t done in a decade.

With their close 60-56 win over Colorado in Boulder, UCLA won its first regular season title in the Pac-12 since 2012-2013. The current No. 4 team in the nation has won 16 games in the league so far which has earned them their 32nd conference championship in school history.

The Bruins have been just as dominant in conference play as they’ve been all season long. Of their 18 conference contests so far, they’ve picked up just two losses. They accumulated the 16 wins with an eight-game win streak to start league play and with another eight-game win streak they’re currently on. Overall, they’ve won against Pac-12 competition by an average of 12.9 points per game.

All of the pieces, with experience and talent combined, have come together for Mick Cronin’s program to have the best Pac-12 season of his tenure so far. However, UCLA could make it even better in his fourth season out in Los Angeles depending on what they do in the postseason.

Tyger Campbell breaks down why UCLA avoids getting too high, too low

Point guard Tyger Campbell has helped lead UCLA to a low of highs over the past few seasons, especially this year. The Bruins are first in the Pac-12 with a regular season title in their grasp if they can finish the job down the stretch.

But the fifth-year senior said he and his UCLA teammates try to stay even keeled through all the ebbs and flows of a college basketball season.

“But we try not to get too high or too low,” Campbell said after Thursday’s 78-71 victory over Utah. “We’re just trying to stay composed and act like we haven’t won yet. Because we haven’t. Still four more games until hopefully we can win the conference.”

Campbell was great in the victory over the Utes. He scored 18 points on 6-for-12 shooting in addition to dishing five assists and swiping two steals while only turning the ball over one time.

While the Bruins are locks to make the NCAA Tournament and finish with a high seed, there has been some fodder about what seed line they will be on. But Campbell said the team doesn’t care about that.

“Not until Selection Sunday,” Campbell said of asked when he and his teammates will start thinking about their spot in March Madness. “I guess we’ll just wait until then to see where we are.”
