UMKC's Jamar Brown commits to transfer to UCLA

Jamar Brown had become an All-Summit player over his two seasons with Missouri-Kansas City. Now, after four seasons total spent at a junior college and mid-major, he’s making the move up to a power team out in Hollywood.
Brown has committed to the UCLA Bruins from the NCAA Transfer Portal, On3 has learned. That comes per On3’s Joe Tipton after speaking with Brown’s representation at One Motive Sports.
Brown spent two seasons apiece while at the collegiate level at UMKC as well as Phoenix College. That includes the past two years with the Kangaroos where Brown, who earned selections to the All-Summit First and Second Team respectively, averaged 16.0 points (45.3% FG, 36.8% 3PT), 6.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.3 steals per game over 62 appearances.
Brown also played in 60 games with the Bears where he posted 19.5 points (47.4% FG, 39.8% 3PT), 8.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 2.0 steals, including his second year there where he was First Team All-ACCAC and was a NJCAA All-American on the Second Team.

Brown put up 17 points (45.3% FG, 40.2% 3PT on 2.3 makes), 7.4 rebounds, 1.6 steals, and 1.2 assists as a senior this season for Missouri-Kansas City. That made him their overall leader in scoring, rebounding, steals, and three-point shooting and percentage. Brown was one of three departures during this portal cycle for the ‘Roos. Babacar Diallo and Teysean Eaglestaff have also entered their names in order to transfer.
UCLA now has its second addition in the portal of the last week. The Bruins have already added New Mexico’s Donovan Dent, who is one of the best transfer pickups in the country as the No. 4 player and the No. 2 PG per the latest in On3’s 2025 Top Transfer Portal Players.
