Lacey (Wash.) Timberline three-star recruit Brooklyn Hicks has committed to UNLV.

Hicks, a 6-foot-3 class of 2023 point guard, ultimately chose the Rebels over Rice, Washington State, and Nevada.

He becomes UNLV’s first commitment to the 2023 class.

Hicks is the No. 183 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, the average ranking from all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 28 point guard and the No. 2 player in the state of Washington.

Hicks on his commitment to UNLV

“I chose UNLV because of the overall early opportunity,” Hicks said to On3.

What type of player is UNLV getting in Brooklyn Hicks?

“They’re getting a freshman that’s a leader and ready to play right away,” he says.

Hicks has a message for Rebels fans.

“I’m ready to bring back UNLV basketball.”
