Former Arkansas cornerback Malik Chavis has committed to UNLV, via the NCAA Transfer Portal.

Chavis spent the first five seasons of his career with Arkansas, entering the transfer portal as a graduate transfer after playing 40 games for the Razorbacks.

Within those 40 games, Chavis made nine starts, starting at cornerback in half of Arkansas’ games in 2022 and making one start in his eight game appearances this past season.

In his career for the Razorbacks he’s recorded 38 tackles, an interception, and a sack, with just five of his tackles and his sack all coming in the most recent 2023 season.

Chavis played high school football at Rison (AK), where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 846 overall recruit in the 2019 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
