4-star DB Ephesians Prysock commits to USC Trojans
USC is a winner on and off the field Saturday afternoon. Moments after the Trojans beat Washington State 45-14, four-star senior cornerback Ephesians Prysock committed to USC.
The commitment from Ephesians Prysock – the No. 205 player in the On300 – comes three days after he announced a top five of USC, UCLA, Oregon, Michigan and Tennessee.
It also comes on the same week that USC fired head coach Clay Helton.
Even with the move by USC, it’s clear the 6-foot-3, 170-pounder from Mission Hills (Calif.) Bishop Alemany felt confident enough in the USC program to go ahead and make a commitment.
Ephesians Prysock has Trojans ties
Ephesians Prysock put USC in his top 10 schools in early March. Other schools that made that list were Arizona State, Colorado, LSU, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas and UCLA.
USC landed two prospects out of Bishop Alemany in the 2021 recruiting cycle: four-star quarterback Miller Moss and four-star athlete Jaylin Smith. The Trojans also have a commitment from consensus three-star receiver Kevin Green from Alemany.
The pledge gives USC 11 solid commitments. The Trojans have the nation’s No. 29 class and rank third in the Pac 12 Conference.
USC on recruiting roller-coaster
The commitment wraps up what has been a wild week on the recruiting for the Trojans. With the news of Helton’s departure, many USC commitments became open targets for rival recruiters.

That includes four-star and On300 quarterback Devin Brown. The longtime USC quarterback commitment was offered by rival UCLA and former Trojans’ head coach Lane Kiffin, who is now at Ole Miss.
The biggest question with commits is with five-star cornerback Domani Jackson of tradition-rich Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei. Erik McKinney with On3’s WeAreSC said before the coaching change there was about a “zero percent chance he was going to flip to Michigan or Alabama.”
“He was going to come to USC,” McKinney said. “I had no concerns about any other school. At this point, I think the only concern becomes what happens with (interim head coach) Donte Williams.
“Donte and Domani are so close. I feel very confident that if Donte Williams is still at USC when it comes time for Domani Jackson to have to sign something, he ends up at USC.”
