Bronny James slams down alley-oop pass from Isaiah Collier in first half vs. Cal
Bronny James is fitting right into the USC lineup after debuting for the Trojans last month. He settled in right at the rim on Wednesday vs. the California Golden Bears.
James’ teammate and fellow 2023 McDonald’s All-American Isaiah Collier was able to deflect a pass from Cal guard Jaylon Tyson, take the ball up the court and find Bronny in the air for the highlight jam.
Bronny might’ve channeled a bit of his father on that slam. You know the one. Decide for yourself:
The Trojans took a 37-29 lead into the halftime locker room in the minutes following the jam before Bronny’s squad took over the game in the second half.
Being able to seal a victory over a Pac-12 opponent in Cal at home would be huge for the Trojans moving into the bulk of conference play. Bronny in particular has joined the team after his medical scare in a tumultuous time for the Trojans, as USC has lost four of the five games he has participated in since Dec. 10.

While he has seen limited action due to a minutes restriction, he still makes the most of his time on the court by averaging 7 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists in roughly 15 minutes per game for the former high school All-American talent.
Of course, in late July, Bronny was taken to the hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest during a workout on USC’s campus. During the initial stages of his recovery, Bronny’s family’s statement revealed that the condition was treatable, and the goal was to get Bronny back on the court in the “very near future,” and that he’s ahead of schedule, which was reported by his father, LeBron James.
Five months following the scary event — which included successful surgery and daily rehab for months — and he was making he debut for USC on Dec. 10 against Long Beach State, where he scored 4 points and recorded two steals in an overtime loss. Four games later, he would record the first double-digit game of his career by notching 15 points and three assists in another losing effort against Oregon State.
Now in his sixth game, he’s slamming alley-oop dunks with ease and is looking healthier by the game. Catch the rest of the game live on the Pac-12 Network as USC looks to ring in the new year with its first conference win of the season.
