When Caleb Williams and Jordan Addison each transferred to USC this offseason, they probably envisioned something similar to what happened Saturday night. Playing in the Coliseum for the Trojans together for the first time, the two connected for their first of what should be many touchdowns.

After the game, Williams shared how it felt to chuck his first USC touchdown to Addison — also for his first. Based on the connection Williams described, it was only a matter of time.

“He got here and it was almost as if we’ve been throwing to each other for the past year, or however long I’ve been in college,” Williams said postgame. “And so, it’s been easy. It’s was really cool to get him the ball. Let him get his first touchdown in Cali, and also me too.”

Williams and Addison both transferred to USC after playing elsewhere in 2021. Williams featured for Lincoln Riley at Oklahoma before following him to Pasadena, while Addison starred at Pitt, winning the Biletnikoff before bouncing.

See the Williams-to-Addison connection for yourself

Deep inside the red zone, USC was facing a third down and three. They were able to score a touchdown and it came from a duo we should get used to seeing. Williams easily connected with Addison to add to the Trojans’ tally.

It was a simple pivot route from Addison, easily beating his defender. He could have waltzed into the end zone and now, Addison’s campaign to defend his Biletnikoff is underway. With the extra point being added, USC took a 7-0 lead early in the first quarter.
