According to On3’s Jamie Shaw, USC has landed a commitment out of the NCAA transfer portal in guard Keonte Jones. Formerly playing a California State University-Northridge, Jones will be staying in the state but jumping up the level of competition. A nice addition for head coach Eric Musselman heading into his second season with the program.

“NEWS: Cal State Northridge transfer Keonte Jones has committed to USC @On3sports is told,” Shaw said via X. “The 6-6 forward averaged 13.1 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 4.1 assists this season.”

USC will be getting an efficient scorer in Jones, someone who made 50% of his field goals during the 2024-2025 season. He averaged 13.1 points while also snagging 9.0 rebounds and assisting just over four times per game.

Jones’ efforts were good enough for him to be named first-team All-Big West. When his name was put into the transfer portal, he instantly become one of the top mid major names available. Staying out West must have been a priority for him.

USC actually did get a first-hand look at what Jones would look they. The Trojans faced off against California State University-Northridge during the nonconference portion of the season. Jones dropped 17 points on 7-14 shooting plus three made free throws.

The rest of the stat sheet was filled up too. Jones secured 10 rebounds for a double-double while adding four assists, two steals, and three blocks. You have to imagine Musselman did not have to do much scouting on Jones, having the Dec. 18 matchup in Los Angeles at the top of his mind.

Former Robert Morris small forward Amarion Dickerson committed to USC out of the NCAA transfer portal. He spent one season at the school.

A former JUCO prospect, Dickerson turned heads at Robert Morris this past season. He’ll now take his talents to the Big Ten to play for Eric Musselman and the Trojans.

This season, Dickerson put up solid numbers across the board. He finished the year with 13.2 points per game, 5.9 rebounds per game and 1.3 assists per game. He shot 52.9% from the floor and 27% from three-point range.
