Damar Hamlin sends message to Bronny James after cardiac arrest at USC practice

Damar Hamlin is sending prayers Bronny James’ way. The Bills safety knows what James is going through since Hamlin nearly died on a football field earlier this year.
Hamlin shared on Twitter: “Prayers to Bronny & The James family as well. Here for you guys just like you have been for me my entire process.”
Bronny James, the incoming USC freshman, suffered cardiac arrest, Monday. LeBron James and his family issued the following statement:
“Yesterday while practicing Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest. Medical staff was able to treat Bronny and take him to the hospital. He is now in stable condition and no longer in ICU. We ask for respect and privacy for the James family and we will update media when there is more information.”

It’s unclear whether cardiac arrests suffered by Damar Hamlin, Bronny James were due to same issue
Back on Jan. 2, a Monday Night Football audience watched in horror as Hamlin collapsed on the field at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati. He stood up after making a tackle of Tee Higgins. Then Hamlin fell back to the ground. Athletic trainers rushed to treat him. Fortunately, they had use of an automated external defibrillator (AED). Hamlin’s heart stopped on the field and again at the hospital. Doctors later determined he suffered Commotio cordis. The hit knocked Hamlin’s heart out of rhythm.

It’s not clear whether there are any other similarities between the conditions of Damar Hamlin and Bronny James. LeBron James’ oldest son collapsed during a USC basketball practice, Monday. Hamlin was on a respirator and spent five days in ICU. He was transferred to a Buffalo hospital, then released.
Hamlin and the rest of his teammates report to training camp on Wednesday. Doctors cleared him for a return to football three months ago.
