Dorian Singer describes what it meant to play in front of USC fans
Wide receiver Dorian Singer transferred from Arizona to USC this offseason. Now that he’s made the jump between PAC-12 rivals, Singer opened up about what it means to play in front of USC fans.
Singer did this at the spring game, which was his first time playing in front of any amount of Trojans fans.
“It was kind of exciting because my freshman year, I think it was the seventh game of the season that was my first game actually playing,” Dorian Singer explained. “So, my first college game ever was in the Coli, so that’s pretty good to be back playing there.”
Dorian Singer was a three-star recruit in the Class of 2021, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He went to Arizona as a preferred walk-on. Since then, he’s developed into an excellent playmaker. He played in 17 games for Arizona, making 84 receptions for 1,406 yards and six touchdowns.
Dorian Singer was ranked ninth in the On3 Transfer Portal Rankings this year. He was also the fourth best wide receiver, including two-way player Travis Hunter, available.
Despite all his previous success, there is always room to improve. So, Singer has also opened up about where he has improved the most since getting to USC.
“I feel like it’s an ongoing thing still, my hands. Getting the DB’s hands off of mine,” Dorian Singer said.

“The biggest challenge is probably the speed of the game, just knowing the plays and then actually playing, getting that all together.”
USC is expecting huge things from Dorian Singer in 2023. He’s widely considered one of the best wide receivers in the game today, even being ranked eighth in On3’s top-10 wide receivers of 2023.
Lincoln Riley praised Dorian Singer as a leader
Despite being a newcomer, Dorian Singer has already caught Lincoln Riley’s eye. The head man has even pointed to Singer as a leader on the team.
“[Dorian] Singer‘s a little bit more quiet, but he certainly leads by example. He’s a very hard worker. We’ve been very impressed with his demeanor,” Riley explained.
He wasn’t the only play who Riley praised, though, saying, “I’d say a little bit of the same for Marshawn Lloyd. He’s got some leadership qualities. Very, very hard worker. It’s been a good group. It really has. [Michael] Tarquin‘s done a nice job. Jarrett Kingston‘s done a nice job.”
