Drake London addresses health, shares surprising Caleb Williams story at USC spring game
Drake London was a star wide receiver for the USC Trojans throughout the past three seasons. London, who is now in the 2022 NFL Draft, returned to USC on Saturday for the Trojans spring game, where he provided a big update on his health and shared a surprising story involving new USC quarterback Caleb Williams.
London said that his health is good right now as he continues to work back to full health following his ankle injury last season.
“It’s feeling great right now,” London said. “Just getting back into it, running routes and all that. I feel pretty good, so it’s going well.”
London had 500 yards in each of his first two years at USC, and then turned into even more of a star last season. In eight games before his injury, London had 88 receptions for 1,084 yards and seven touchdowns. As he takes his game to the NFL level, he simply views himself as a playmaker.
“A playmaker,” said London. “Just somebody who has the ball in their hands, it can happen at any moment. Just a playmaker.”
Even though USC will have some work to do in replacing the production lost by London, he is confident that the Trojans have a special group of receivers with a special quarterback throwing the ball their way.
“It’s special,” London said of USC’s receiving room. “I mean it’s SC at the end of the day. Especially with a special guy in the backfield with 13 running it. So I’m pretty sure everybody’s going to get their fair share.”

London shares surprising story on USC quarterback Caleb Williams
After Williams committed to USC, London admitted on Saturday that he at least thought twice about whether or not to enter the NFL Draft. He ultimately remained in the draft, but he definitely had to think about that decision.
“It’s funny, we were just talking about that,” said London. “I definitely thought about it twice, but it’s football at the end of the day. If you get hurt like this, you want some compensation for it.
“I would say a little bit. It was definitely – I was batting my eyes thinking about it. So a little bit, yeah.”
When asked about his expectations for USC this season, London was blunt in his assessment. He wants the Trojans to make it to the Rose Bowl and beyond, as that’s the level of play that USC expects.
“Bowl games, Rose Bowl and above, that’s what I expect from them,” he said.
