Elite QB DJ Lagway posts highlight video from USC visit
Willis (Texas) four-star quarterback DJ Lagway has had a busy last few days, picking up offers from Clemson and USC while also attending the Steve Clarkson QB Retreat.
Lagway posted a video on social media Wednesday from his Monday visit to USC, which is where he picked up the offer. The two-plus minute long video features videos and photos from Lagway’s time spent in Los Angeles.
He talked with WeAreSC about the offer, the visit and where the Trojans now sit in his recruitment.
“We were there in the morning and afternoon, because we had a 5pm flight back home,” he told WeAreSC. “We spent a lot of time with Coach Riley, watched film, talked about his offense, how he did different things with different quarterbacks and how I’d fit into his system.”
Lagway is the No. 15 overall recruit in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power said Lagway still has some growing to do but has tremendous potential at the next level.
“DJ Lagway showed some intriguing flashes as a sophomore at Willis (Texas) High,” Power said in March. “The 6-foot-2, 215-pounder has a quick release, live arm and good feet. He makes impressive reactive plays in and out of the pocket. Lagway was not quite as efficient or productive as some of his highly-ranked peers as a sophomore and is more of an upside and skill set projection at this point. He completed 55.5 percent of his passes for 1,579 yards, 17 touchdown and two interceptions at under seven yards per attempt, while also rushing for 715 yards and six scores.”
