Lincoln Riley announces USC linebacker Eric Gentry will miss spring practice after offseason surgery

USC linebacker Eric Gentry will miss spring practice after undergoing ankle surgery, according to head coach Lincoln Riley.
“USC LB Eric Gentry will miss spring practice after having ankle surgery, but he should be healthy by summer, Lincoln Riley says,” Greg Beacham of the Associated Press wrote on Twitter. “Gentry was the Trojans’ third-leading tackler last year despite playing in only 10 games.”
Gentry underwent surgery back in February, so there were initial thoughts about the star defender missing time before the 2023 season.
