Utah transfer forward Ezra Ausar committed to USC, he announced via Instagram. He began his career at East Carolina.
Ausar had an impressive 2024-25 season at Utah after arriving from ECU. He averaged 12.5 points and 5.0 rebounds across 31 games, including 29 starts. That came after an impressive junior season when he averaged 11.4 points and 4.7 rebounds for East Carolina. He will have one year of eligibility remaining.
Ausar is a Snellville (Ga.) native and played high school basketball at Charlotte (NC) Liberty Heights Athletic Institute, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 209 overall player from the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Ezra Ausar is the latest addition to USC’s growing transfer class. The Trojans now have five players coming in as part of the No. 26-ranked portal group so far this cycle, according to the On3 Team Transfer Portal Index. Ausar is now the highest-rated of the group, coming in as the No. 84 overall player in the On3 Industry Transfer Rankings.

Former Virginia forward Jacob Cofie is also on his way to Los Angeles as the No. 93-ranked player in the On3 Industry Transfer Rankings. He’s averaged 7.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.1 steals, and 1.0 assists per game with the Cavaliers this past season before entering the portal and committing to USC.
The Trojans had an up-and-down go in their first year in the Big Ten as the Eric Musselman era got underway. They finished 17-18 overall and 7-13 in conference play. Guard Desmond Claude led the charge, averaging a team-high 15.8 points per game while adding 3.5 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game.
USC notably lost second-leading scorer Wesley Yates to the portal, though. He averaged 14.1 points per game before hitting the open market and committing to Washington, meaning he’s staying in the Big Ten next season.
