Former Robert Morris small forward Amarion Dickerson committed to USC out of the NCAA transfer portal. He spent one season at the school.

A former JUCO prospect, Dickerson turned heads at Robert Morris this past season. He’ll now take his talents to the Big Ten to play for Eric Musselman and the Trojans.

This season, Dickerson put up solid numbers across the board. He finished the year with 13.2 points per game, 5.9 rebounds per game and 1.3 assists per game. He shot 52.9% from the floor and 27% from three-point range.

Amarion Dickerson commits to USC

With Dickerson in the fold, USC gets a solid piece offensively going into next season. They’ll need it since guard Kevin Patton also entered the portal.

Patton played high school basketball at Chandler (AZ) Rancho Christian, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 174 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

San Diego gaining a commitment and eventually the signature of Patton was a huge recruiting win. The true freshman instantly found a role, averaging 9.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game. Some team success was there too, finishing above .500 for the first time in four seasons.

Going to USC meant a step was going to need to be taken but Patton failed to reach the level. He made 27 appearances this past year and scored an average of 3.1 points per game. Patton did get into double figures on two occasions and both against Big Ten opponents — Maryland and Michigan.
