Four-Star Safety Marquis Gallegos commits to USC
Four-star safety Marquis Gallegos of West Hills (CA) Chaminade High announced his commitment to USC Tuesday evening.
The 6-foot-1, 180 pounder chose the Trojans over Oregon, Notre Dame, and Michigan.
Gallegos on why he chose USC
“What stood out to me the most about USC is the direction that the program is headed in. With the already great history and tradition that the program has, what Lincoln Riley is doing is leading them to great things. With them being headed into the Big 10, new facilities being built in the next year, and the great environment and coaching staff. USC is going to do special things in the upcoming years.”
Relationship with coaching staff + their plan for him
“My relationship with the coaching staff is great. I’m closest with coach Donte and coach Grinch but the entirety of the staff shows love from top to bottom. They plan on using me in a similar way as they are using Caleb Bullock right now. Which is more of an up top safety playing the middle of the field.”
What it means to stay home
“To be able to stay home and play for USC means a lot to me and my family. Because I grew up in LA , my family and I have always been USC fans. So for me to be able to be apart of a program like that is a dream come true.”
The Lone Star State offensive lineman joins coach Lincoln Riley and the Trojans’ No. 6 class in the 2024 team rankings. He is accompanied by four-star cornerback Marcelles Williams, four-star wide receiver Xavier Jordan, and others.
