Buford (Ga.) four-star linebacker Jadon Perlotte has been committed to the in-state Georgia Bulldogs since December 2022.

Multiple other programs have appeared to have serious momentum in Perlotte’s recruitment throughout the process. Right now, USC is one of those schools.

Perlotte was in Los Angeles over the July 27 weekend for the Trojans’ big July recruiting weekend. During that visit, USC insider Scott Schrader logged an expert prediction in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine favoring the Cardinal and Gold to flip Perlotte away from Georgia.

The 6-foot-3, 200-pound Perlotte is the nation’s No. 203 overall prospect, No. 21 linebacker and No. 27 recruit from Georgia in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Perlotte told WeAreSC heading into this weekend that he would be back during the season for an official visit. In June, he took official visits to Alabama, Miami, Tennessee and Georgia.

USC adds key 2026 piece during visit weekend

Gainesville (Ga.) 2026 four-star linebacker Xavier Griffin committed to USC while in Los Angeles on Saturday.

He is the nation’s No. 27 overall prospect, No. 2 linebacker and No. 5 recruit from Georgia in the 2026 cycle.

“I felt that I’m the biggest priority at USC,” Griffin told On3. “The defensive scheme that they are building is world-class.”

Griffin joins a USC class featuring four additional 2026 commitments. Los Angeles Loyola four-star cornerback Brandon Lockhart also ranks inside the top 40 alongside Griffin. Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy cornerback Dominick Kelly and Los Alamitos (Calif.) wide receiver Ja’Myron Baker also rate as four-star prospects.

Pasadena (Calif.) Sierra Canyon three-star athlete Madden Riordan joined the class back in November.
