Jordan Addison tells reporter he 'won't discuss injuries'
No. 7 USC is back in action this weekend for what could be its toughest conference game to date, a road trip to No. 20 Utah. Importantly, the health of star receiver Jordan Addison remains a bit of a mystery.
Addison left last week’s win over Washington State early in the third quarter, heading to the team’s medical tent. He later returned to the game, but he dodged questions about what his issue was this week.
“I won’t discuss injuries,” Addison told reporters, unwilling to expound further.
According to practice notes posted for WeAreSC subscribers by reporter Marc Kulkin, Addison took part in the team’s practice on Tuesday working as a punt returner.
A Pittsburgh transfer, Addison has been a key part of the Trojans offense this year under first-year coach Lincoln Riley. He currently leads the team in every major receiving category, having logged 32 catches for 479 yards and six touchdowns.
He’s been a go-to target for Oklahoma quarterback transfer Caleb Williams as the Trojans have gotten out to a 6-0 start to the season.

Jordan Addison’s injury a mystery, but USC ready to build on perfect start
With Jordan Addison’s injury appearing to be relatively minor, USC will be looking to extend its unbeaten start on Saturday at Utah.
Riley knows it won’t be easy and that overconfidence for his team can be deadly if it starts to impact work ethic and expectations. He’s been vocal about that this week.
“The point to the guys right now is every year there’s a lot of teams that start off hot, start off 6-0 and then by the end of the season you don’t hear from them anymore,” Riley said. “6-0 is a great start but it’s just an opportunity to go and have a really tremendous second half of the season. We’ve got to continue to grow and ascend as a team. It’s special but it’s also a special opportunity, and we need to take advantage of it.”
USC and Utah will kick off Saturday at 8 p.m. ET with a broadcast on Fox.
