Jordan Addison praises Caleb Williams for performance
Caleb Williams has played like a superstar this season for USC. The Heisman hopeful has made good of his promises to help the Trojans compete and he has done it through stellar play in his first season as a full-time starter. After yet another great performance for Williams in a win over Notre Dame, wide receiver Jordan Addison said it doesn’t surprise him because it’s just who his quarterback is.
Addison praised Williams’ game following USC’s 38-27 win over the Fighting Irish. He said the bright lights bring out the best in Williams and it all traces back to how he prepares each week.
“The bigger the stage is, the bigger he’s gonna play,” said Addison. “He brings it every day, every week in practice. And he just shows up every Saturday.”

Williams put up one of his most efficient outings of the season with an 81.8% completion rate against Notre Dame. That led to 232 passing yards and a score through the air. It was also the best rushing game of Williams’ career with three touchdowns on the ground. In total, that gives him 2,008 overall yards on the season for 24 touchdowns. That production from Williams is the big key to USC’s 11-1 mark on the year.
If it’s true that Williams elevates his game on the biggest stages, transferring to Hollywood last offseason looks like an even better idea now than it did when he committed to play for Lincoln Riley again. It also means great things could be coming for him as his next game will be in the Pac-12 Championship against Utah which could then lead to a playoff spot for the Trojans. With both potentially being the biggest moments of his young career, USC will need Williams to continue at this pace starting Friday and then moving forward if they do make the CFP.
