Jordan Addison reveals how he can take the next step after strong 2021 campaign
Jordan Addison has an outstanding 2021 season with the Pitt Panthers. His 17 touchdowns tied him for the NCAA lead and helped him win the Biletnikoff Award. With a change in scenery and offenses, Addison could be due for an even bigger year in 2022.
‘Trojans Live’ asked Addison how his goals would improve what he did as a sophomore. His response showed a team focused attitude that if everything works out for USC as a team, his numbers and any awards will come along with that.

“Right now all I’m looking forward to is week one. (We’ll) take it one step at a time. We go 1-0 this week and that’s all we’re really trying to do,” said Addison. “Everything else is gonna fall into place. Put the team first and let’s ride.”
Addison’s personal success was rooted in team success a season ago. His former Pitt team won the ACC last season with an 11-3 record. His production alongside Kenny Pickett helped the Panthers have the third best offense in the nation that averaged 41.4 points per game.
Having seen first hand what team success can do for a campaign, Addison is more than willing to wait his turn. If USC accomplishes what they can this season, he’ll be right back in the conversation come this year’s award season.

Jordan Addison reveals why he ultimately chose to come to USC
Addison also spoke on his decision to come to USC during his ‘Trojans Live’ appearance. He said Lincoln Riley and the USC program were very clear about choosing him as a target and it gave him a feeling he never doubted from then on.
“I feel like USC just chose me. It was all just a feeling that I had. I just went with it and I never turned back,” said Addison.
Addison was the No. 2 player in On3’s 2021 Transfer Portal Rankings. That’s because of the standout sophomore season he had in the Pitt Panther offense led by Mark Whipple and Kenny Pickett. Addison totaled 100 catches for nearly 1,600 yards and 17 touchdowns. Those numbers tied Addison for the national lead in touchdowns and gave him the ACC lead in reception yards.
As one of the most prolific offensive weapons in the nation, Addison could be even better as he joins Riley’s offense alongside Caleb Williams. His skillset combined with the firepower from the former Sooner duo could be dangerously potent out west. The connection must continue to grow on the field but, with their opener right around the corner, Addison is ready to produce for the school who made him feel like he was home.
