Korey Foreman on changes, joys of working with new staff at USC
Defensive end Korey Foreman came to USC as a highly-touted recruit and former five-star recruit according to the On3’s Consensus. The defensive lineman finished with 11 total tackles and 2.5 sacks for the Trojans in his first season under the previous staff.
As Lincoln Riley and his new staff come to USC and bring along a new way of doing things, Korey Foreman addressed the changes he sees at practice and how he feels about the new staff.
“It’s a blessing,” said Foreman. “This staff is amazing. Just working with coach Manning every single day, I learn something new every single day. With that, just being putting my hands on an o-lineman before he can or just little things like being able to break him down. It’s a blessing to be between these walls and in these meetings.”
With the massive shift, starting with a mid-season firing and interim coach for most of the season, USC’s last season featured many twists and turns before Lincoln Riley shocked the college football world by joining the Trojans. The rollercoaster of events has led Foreman to view the upcoming year differently.
“I told them it was kind of like a whole new freshman year again,” said Foreman. “But it’s just something that comes with college football. You’ve just got to start over every – like I said, the world doesn’t move for anybody – so you’ve just got to learn to adapt in any little situation. And that’s what’s going to make or break you going into the next one.”

Korey Foreman provides spring update
Korey Foreman hopes to breakout under the leadership of the new USC staff. While the former star recruit dealt with the injury bug earlier this spring, Foreman shared a positive update on his health moving forward.
“I’m taking it day by day,” Foreman responded, when asked how his spring is going. “I’m doing little things that we stress here, slow, small, daily. So, just taking every moment for what it is, and just keep going. The best I can do is just making sure I step through these walls with one hundred and ten percent effort, every single day. So, that’s the best thing I can do.”
While star transfer quarterback Caleb Williams and Riley’s offense gets a lot of the hype, Korey Foreman and the Trojans defense will be hoping to keep some attention on the defense. If USC wants to make some noise in 2022, complementary football will be a must for the Trojans.
