Now in his third season leading the USC Trojans, head coach Lincoln Riley has run into some on-field struggles with the Trojans falling to 4-5 on the season. The most recent of those losses was at the hands of the Washington Huskies.

With that, Riley has already matched the five losses USC suffered in 2023. Unsurprisingly, it’s also led to criticism of the program. That includes from one of the great running backs in program history, LenDale White, who hammered Riley, accusing him of stealing from USC.

“Lincoln u are f*****g stealing from USC. Donate ur salary to help recruit that coaching job u doing ain’t helping sh*t,” White posted on social media.

LenDale White is one of the great running backs in USC history. A two-time Second-Team All-Pac-10 selection, he shared a backfield with Reggie Bush. Together, they helped lead the Trojans to win two national championships.

Beyond sharing that he feels Riley is stealing his salary from USC given the results on the field, White continued to be critical in a series of posts on social media. That included saying, “100 million bro 3 season u should hv some answers by now.” He also later went on to add, “Naw fr all bs aside Lincoln if u win a nati next year I’m so sorry bro!!!!! lol but right now u looking like Ryan leaf and we need Peyton lol.”

Lincoln Riley inherited a program coming off a 4-8 season. In his first year, Riley won 11 games and took the Trojans to the Cotton Bowl. However, after dropping to 8-5 in his second season, the 4-5 start to their first season in the Big Ten has led to concerns.

Lincoln Riley denies need for change following Washington loss

Following the loss to Washington, Lincoln Riley pushed back on the idea that the Trojans need to make a change.

“I don’t handle losing very well. It hasn’t happened very much in my career. That part of it is unacceptable,” Riley said.

“It’s not like we’re getting our ass kicked. It’s not like I go back to the drawing board like gah, we’re doing this terrible, and people are wearing us out on this or that. It’s not that.”

USC has now lost four of its last five games. Those were all one-score losses. They’ll now need to win two of their final three games to get bowl-eligible, starting with Nebraska next week.
