With one coach already leaving Los Angeles, Lincoln Riley addressed if there’d be any more changes for USC.

Riley was asked about his staff during his press conference on Wednesday after Matt Entz, the Trojans’ linebackers coach and assistant head coach of the defense, became the head coach at Fresno State earlier in the day. He said that, as of then, Southern Cal wasn’t expecting anyone else to be leaving this offseason.

“No other, no other expected staff changes right now,” said Riley.

However, that is the reality of this time of year with the coaching carousel says Riley. Other programs will be looking to make hires of their own. With that, they will naturally look to a team like theirs for people to fill their jobs. That can be a good thing too with how those places are regarding his assistants.

“Now, I know there’s, you know – this is the time of year when those things happen,” Riley said. “As I said, we’ve got a really good staff. So, you know, people are going to want to, you know, and are going to be interested in our guys, which is a sign of a healthy program.”

Parts of the staff have been in place through the three-year tenure so far for Riley in LA. Some of the defensive coaches have not been, though, with the hire of D’Anton Lynn as their defensive coordinator last offseason. Anthony Jones Jr., their running backs coach, was also in his first year on staff.

This comes after Riley’s own name has also circulated already over this week since the end of the regular season.

While names will come about because of other changes across the country, Riley is under the assumption that the rest of his staff will now remain intact going into next year for USC.

“Nothing that I would call imminent right now by any stretch,” Riley said.
