Korey Foreman is in, Domani Jackson is out against Arizona this weekend, according to USC head coach Lincoln Riley. Still, the Trojans headman discussed the extent of both of their injuries heading into Week 9.

“Nothing serious with either one,” Riley said of Jackson and Foreman’s injuries. “Domani won’t be available this weekend. Korey’s had just a couple of nagging things that just keep him slightly limited, but we expect to have him available this weekend.”

That’s good news for Foreman, who has already missed two games this season (Oregon StateUtah). As the No. 1 player in the 2021 class, per the On3 Consensus. Foreman hasn’t exactly make an immediate, game-changing impact in his first season and a half at Southern Cal. He would finish his true freshman season having played in 11 games, with 11 tackles, including 2.5 sacks. This season, he’s totaled just eight total tackles.

Still, injuries have played a major role in his lack of production, but is a force when he’s on the field. Through Week 7 (the last time USC played) Foreman ranks as PFF’s No. 7 EDGE defender in the country with a grade of 75.0, meaning he’s still an incredibly vital part of the Trojans’ defensive efforts – and the Trojans will be glad to have him back against the Arizona offense.

Jackson, another blue-chip, Five-Star Plus+ prospect and No. 1 cornerback in the 2022 class, per the On3 Consensus, has been dealing with nagging injuries since the preseason. Once he’s back, he’s expected to make a splash in the Trojans’ secondary.

It’s rare to see two top-five players in their respective classes play on the same defense, and it’s even more rare for them to be plagued with the injury bug they way both have. Still, they have multiple years of eligibility left, and Riley knows they’ll be a vital part to his defensive efforts over the coming seasons.
