Michael Trigg pens message to USC, fans after Ole Miss decision
Former USC Trojans tight end Michael Trigg announced his transfer commitment to Ole Miss over the weekend. Trigg’s decision to transfer to Ole Miss comes shortly after former USC quarterback Jaxson Dart opted to do the same.
Following Trigg’s decision to leave USC for Ole Miss, he posted a heartfelt message on his Twitter account, thanking the Trojans for his time there.
“I will never forget the times I had in the Coliseum and the memories I made,” Trigg said. “I will always have love in my heart for USC #fighton and to the brothas I made, y’all kno how we rock 4L.”
Trigg played in just four games at USC as a true freshman this season. He caught seven passes for 109 yards and a touchdown in those four games. Trigg suffered a knee injury against Utah on October 9, and that was the final game he ever played in a USC uniform.
Prior to joining USC, Trigg was a four-star recruit according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
After a very public stay in the NCAA Transfer Portal, Trigg now has a new home. He had posted on his social media about his visits to Ole Miss and Oklahoma, and he is now reuniting with his former quarterback and roommate with the Rebels.

Trigg brings a lot of potential to Ole Miss
Former USC head coach Clay Helton was very high on Trigg early in the season. Despite being a true freshman this past season, Helton used Trigg as an example of the “creatures” that teams must go up against in college football.
“I don’t know if he’s a human, I’ve been calling him a creature for the last week,” Helton said of Trigg. “He’s really a talented freshman that comes to us from Tampa, Florida. Came all the way out here to USC and really has had a nice sense of urgency of wanting to get on the field…as you can see.
“We actually showed this clip in a team meeting the other day and the amount of opportunities he made to create extra yards against some other freshmen he was going against — It was a tremendous learning lesson for our young people about ‘you better use your fundamentals of tackling’ because there are creatures like this all over the place in college football.”
Trigg was ranked as the 38th best player to enter the transfer portal during this cycle, according to the On3 transfer portal rankings.
